Job Title: Retail Sales Associate - Seasonal Full-Time Issaquah

At Recology, we are committed to protecting the environment and sustaining our communities. We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team in Issaquah.

Job Summary:

The Retail Sales Associate will work under the direction of the Store Manager to accept hard-to-recycle materials, educate customers about waste reduction and sustainability, and promote brand-appropriate products. This is a seasonal full-time position that requires a strong commitment to customer service and a passion for environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accept hard-to-recycle materials, including potentially hazardous items, and sort them for proper disposal.
  • Promote and sell products designed to reduce waste and educate customers about the benefits of sustainable living.
  • Open and close the store each day, including compiling daily reports and processing customer bill payments.
  • Maintain visual standards and cleanliness of the store, including merchandising and facing products.
  • Run the cash register, handle payments, and make bank deposits.
  • Provide superior customer service, both in-store and over the phone, and anticipate customer needs.
  • Communicate with customers about drop-off expectations and alternative recycling resources.
  • Participate in events and activities to attract customers to the store and promote the Recology brand.
Requirements:
  • Two years of experience in customer service and/or retail.
  • Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Knowledge of retail sales operations, including industry standards and requirements.
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
