Overview of Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, position, and secure components and systems in accordance with specifications.
- Analyze hydraulic schematics and assess pressure for automotive/Class 8 truck chassis.
- Ensure optimal vehicle performance by addressing operator concerns; performing inspections; rectifying engine issues; fixing mechanical and electrical system failures; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.
- Confirm vehicle functionality through test drives; adjusting controls and systems as necessary.
- Adhere to state vehicle regulations by evaluating engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Preserve vehicle aesthetics by cleaning, washing, and painting as needed.
- Maintain accurate vehicle records by documenting services and repairs performed.
- Ensure shop equipment is functional by following operational guidelines; troubleshooting malfunctions; maintaining inventory; performing preventive maintenance; and coordinating repairs when necessary.
- Control costs by utilizing warranties; assessing service and parts alternatives.
- Enhance professional knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities; reviewing technical literature.
- Must be capable of lifting over 50lbs, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
- Essential to work collaboratively with colleagues and team members.
- Seeking individuals who demonstrate integrity in both personal conduct and work ethic.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a truck mechanic.
- Welding experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- At least 3 years of experience in electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret and repair hydraulic systems along with electrical schematics and diagnose circuitry connections.
- Familiarity with waste collection equipment is a significant advantage for this role.
