Qualifications:
Education Requirements:

- Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing is mandatory.
- All new hires must complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 60 months of employment or possess 10 years of Registered Nurse experience (direct or indirect).
- Graduation from an accredited NLN/CCNE institution is essential.

Experience Requirements:

- A minimum of 10 months in a medical-surgical or acute specialty setting is required.
- At least 1 year of RN experience is necessary for float positions.

Licenses and Certifications:

- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Arizona is required upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory, along with any unit-specific certifications as required by the specialty area.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse, your practice will adhere to the ANA Standards for Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics.

The RN will:
- Document patients' medical histories and symptoms, assist in diagnostic testing, and analyze results.
- Operate medical equipment, administer treatments and medications, and facilitate patient follow-up and rehabilitation.

The RN will also:
- Develop and implement care plans, ensuring they are tailored to individual patient needs and based on evidence-based practices.
- Educate patients and their families on managing health conditions, including post-treatment care and medication administration.

The RN will lead and guide licensed practical nurses and nursing aides in patient care, delegating tasks as appropriate.
Additionally, the RN will:
- Participate in the advancement of clinical knowledge and skills, mentoring new staff and students.


All RN staff responsible for stroke patient care must possess knowledge of:
- Stroke symptoms and warning signs
- Protocols for identifying and managing stroke patients
- NIHSS and stroke alert protocols
- Available educational resources for stroke patients and their families.


Furthermore, the RN will:
- Collect and analyze health data systematically, prioritizing according to patient needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care delivery.
