Job Summary:

Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies is seeking a Laboratory Scientist 2 to perform timely and accurate laboratory work on a range of standard experiments and studies, routine testing, analysis of data, and other study-related tasks in compliance with the company and external regulatory guidelines, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collects, processes, and analyzes biological laboratory samples using specialized lab equipment/methods following established lab procedures
  • Promotes safety and infection control standards
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Maintains accurate laboratory quality records and logs
  • Interprets and analyzes data; performs basic analysis
  • Presents basic data to internal department
  • Contributes to the development of GLP/Study protocols and reports
  • Contributes to the development and validation of analytical methods
  • Develops new laboratory procedures
  • Qualifies laboratory equipment

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in life science, physical science, hematology, or related discipline preferred, or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years experience in related field. This position is an entry-level role for individuals who hold a master's of science degree, or a bachelor's of science degree in addition to related industry experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of blood, blood components, and other scientific concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to follow regulatory requirements
  • Develops solutions to issues of low to moderate complexity
  • Interprets and can recommend modifications to operating procedures
  • Demonstrated initiative to independently accomplish objectives and set priorities
  • Identify problems and significantly improve, change, or adapt existing methods and techniques drawing from personal experiences and feedback
  • Ability to provide informal mentoring or supervision of scientific staff
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Physical Requirements:

General Labor Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.

Target Pay Range:$72,500.00to$90,600.00 -Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
