Job Summary

This position exists to perform skilled labor, operate machinery and heavy equipment, to schedule and coordinate with vendors and contractors. To assist skilled craft employees in facility maintenance, repairs and various construction projects at MCF- Stillwater.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform skilled labor tasks, including repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment
  • Operate heavy equipment and machinery, such as trucks, tractors, and road maintenance equipment
  • Schedule and coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Assist skilled craft employees in facility maintenance, repairs, and construction projects
Requirements
  • Knowledge of general methods and practices of a variety of trade areas (e.g. mechanics, masonry, welding, electrical, plumbing and carpentry) sufficient to assist licensed trades workers and to repair machinery, tools and facilities in a timely and safe manner
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures related to trades work sufficient to safely and efficiently perform the job duties
  • Ability to safely use hand and power hand tools
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain trucks, tractors, and other ground and road maintenance equipment
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to provide work instructions to unskilled helpers
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess the skills and abilities necessary to fabricate, install, remove, repair and select proper materials in order to do repair work and renovation within the facility
  • Basic knowledge in grounds keeping, snow removal, and irrigation systems
Physical Requirements

The completion of pre-placement physical components may be required prior to hire for this position. These components consist of a tuberculosis, commercial drivers license (CDL) drug test, and/or respiratory clearance. The selected finalist may be required to review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) for this position.
