Position Summary: We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals for the role of Assistant Surgical Coordinator. In this position, you will be integral to ensuring that all surgical procedures for patients are properly authorized and that all necessary documentation is accurate and complete.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain all required authorizations and pre-certifications to facilitate timely reimbursement.
  • Engage with insurance providers through various communication methods to secure surgery approvals.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance protocols, medical terminology, and relevant coding.
  • Verify patient details and gather any missing information as needed.
  • Review medical records and physician documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate surgical paperwork and authorization with relevant facilities and departments.
  • Communicate any unusual circumstances regarding patient insurance coverage to all relevant parties.
  • Cross-train in additional roles, including front desk operations, to provide comprehensive support.
  • Exhibit professionalism in all interactions with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality regarding patient information.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor, with a passion for patient interaction.
