Job Summary

Fulfill critical inventory replenishment orders for Baptist Health affiliates, including hospitals, community pharmacies, clinics, and outpatient infusion centers. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for medication warehouse distribution, including receiving, scanning, repackaging, distribution, order fulfillment, packing, auditing, and shipping medications under pharmacist supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all tasks associated with medication warehouse distribution, including receiving, scanning, repackaging, distribution, order fulfillment, packing, auditing, and shipping medications to Baptist Health facility affiliates under pharmacist supervision.
  • Conduct station inspections for assigned areas, check in and stock ordered medications, and support the pharmacist in maintaining the security of medications.
  • Assist in the maintenance of pharmacy automation systems, adhering to state and federal regulations, and Baptist Health policies and procedures.
  • Restock returned medication in a timely manner and assist pharmacy management in monitoring waste to identify areas for potential improvement and cost savings.
  • Maintain compliance with cold chain and room temperature medication packaging requirements based on seasonal pack-out changes.
  • Assist in training new staff when assigned and support and assist with inventory management processes, including medication ordering, receiving, stocking, restocking, return, and physical inventory management with the help of pharmacy automation.
  • Review received stock from vendors/wholesalers, electronically acknowledge receipt, and stock them in the pharmacy.
  • Perform routine medication cycle counts to ensure accuracy of inventory levels and scan received inventory to ensure bar code compliance, notifying a supervising pharmacist to ensure EHR/ADC notification of any identified discrepancies.
  • Complete required training and competency assessments to maintain appropriate knowledge and awareness of job-specific responsibilities in compliance with policies and regulations.

Requirements
  • Nationally Certified as a pharmacy technician.
  • Previous hospital pharmacy or central pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Registration with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy will be required upon hire (only an application and fee).
