Job Summary

The Owensboro Health Event Medicine Nurse plays a critical role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As a key member of the healthcare team, this nurse will utilize their assessment skills to activate patient care protocols and deliver care within their full scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborative Patient Care: Actively participates with other members of the healthcare team to provide direct patient care, ensuring a seamless and effective delivery of services.
  • Triage and Assessment: Responsible for triage care in the pre-hospital environment, utilizing their expertise to make informed decisions and prioritize patient needs.
  • Effective Communication: Ensures safe and quality patient care by maintaining effective communication with the on-site care team and during handover.
  • EMS Collaboration: Works collaboratively with EMS personnel to provide comprehensive patient care and ensure a smooth transition of care.
  • Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Utilizes the problem-solving model to independently resolve patient problems and follows through with the healthcare team to implement solutions.
  • Emergency Response: Responds to emergency requests within the assigned events, prioritizing patient care and safety.
  • Clinical Competency: Maintains clinical competency per regulatory and accreditation compliance, staying up-to-date with the latest best practices and guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Nursing Education: Associate's degree or higher or Diploma in Nursing required upon hire.
  • Nursing Experience: A minimum of 2 years' Nursing experience required.
  • Licensure and Certification: RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire AND Trauma - Certification in Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) required upon hire AND BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required upon hire AND ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Healthcare Provider required upon hire AND PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification required upon hire.
