Job Summary

Owensboro Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Phone Triage Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for triaging incoming calls from clients, assessing their needs, and providing appropriate clinical disposition. You will work closely with primary providers, specialists, and community resources to ensure that clients receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities
  • Elicit questions, concerns, and information from callers to assess symptoms and determine acuity.
  • Provide professional advice, education, and options based on assessment and established guidelines.
  • Dispatch emergency response units when necessary.
  • Refer clients to healthcare providers and community resources, including locations, hours, and contact information.
  • Assist callers with scheduling appointments at referral sources.
  • Document calls, responses, and referrals.
  • Perform follow-up calls to evaluate the effectiveness of care and need for additional care.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or higher in Nursing required.
  • A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience required.
  • RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the States of Kentucky and Indiana required.
