Perishable Department Sales Associate

As a Perishable Department Sales Associate, you'll play a critical role in delivering this experience by providing top-notch customer service and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety in the Perishable Department. Your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:- Providing fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience
- Maintaining an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness and ensuring that all merchandise is displayed and stocked in accordance with policies and guidelines
- Receiving deliveries, coding, rotating, and storing products in the appropriate storage area
- Ensuring that all ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise is done in accordance with policies and guidelines
- Maintaining proper product levels in all areas within the Perishable Department, including meat, lunchmeat, frozen, dairy, and ice cream
- Processing beef and grinds as directed from the planned production tool and as requested or needed
- Wrapping, labeling, weighing, and stocking meat cases as requested or needed
- Assembling, disassembling, and cleaning the grinder as requested or needed
- Properly cleaning and sanitizing the department
- Maintaining variety and layout standards
- Ensuring that all advertising and sales promotion materials applicable to the department are properly utilized
- Maintaining a complete understanding of and adherence to company guidelines, policies, and standard practice
- Understanding and following Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures
- Observing and correcting all unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidents
- Reporting all associate and customer accidents in accordance with established Food Lion procedures to the Manager on Duty
- Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Wearing the Food Lion uniform with apron, complete with name badge, when on duty, and adhering to the Food Lion dress code
- Successfully completing Computer-Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses
- Performing all other duties as assigned
