Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at HealthPRO Heritage. As a COTA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, working closely with our Occupational Therapist to develop and implement treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy treatments to residents, adhering to treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist the Occupational Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
  • Observe, record, and report to the therapist on resident conditions, reactions, and responses.
  • Maintain daily records of treatments and document progress notes on residents as directed by the therapist.
  • Assist with admission screening and consult with family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Contribute to the care of the occupational therapy department and equipment.
  • Participate in in-service programs and meetings as assigned by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Engage in continuing education opportunities to maintain clinical currency.
  • Adhere to company and facility policies, participating in quality improvement and safety programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current license or eligibility for licensure under state statutes.
  • Prefer experience in a setting serving the same age/type of resident population.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions, as well as facility policies and procedures.
  • Ability to complete activities safely, including standing, pushing, lifting, stooping, reaching, and balancing.
