Job Title: Heap Intake Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Heap Intake Specialist to join our team at Catholic Charities Family Community Services. As a key member of our Housing and Stabilization Services department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of our HEAP program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct eligibility determinations for the HEAP program, ensuring accurate and timely processing of applications.
  • Interview clients to gather necessary information, including housing, demographic, and income data.
  • Assist clients in providing required documentation and evidence of income to support eligibility determinations.
  • Respond to heating and utility emergency situations, providing critical support to vulnerable populations.
  • Perform data-entry functions, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Collaborate with team members to promote the HEAP program, engaging with community organizations and coalitions to increase awareness and participation.
  • Participate in relevant agency meetings and trainings, staying up-to-date on program guidelines and best practices.
  • Actively pursue professional development, attending conferences and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience working within program guidelines, with strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
