Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist

A Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist is needed at Norman Regional Health System to prepare equipment for and assist in cardiovascular procedures. The ideal candidate will have expertise in radiologic technology, patient care, and maintaining a sterile environment.
This role also involves serving as a mentor for new staff, ensuring they receive comprehensive training and guidance throughout their onboarding process. Additionally, the specialist must be able to work effectively with physicians and leadership to provide excellent patient care.
Responsibilities- Prepares equipment before and during procedures to ensure smooth operations.
- Identifies and assesses patient condition, preparing them for procedures while providing top-notch care.
- Maintains a sterile environment to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Serves as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students, participating in their orientation and providing support throughout their training.
- Utilizes downtime efficiently by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and completing other tasks assigned by Charge person or manager.
- Maintains strong professional working relationships with physicians and leadership to facilitate exceptional patient care.
- Completion of 24-month formal program or military program in Radiologic Technology, with eligibility for American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registration and/or current RCIS certification.
- Previous Procedural Area experience preferred.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technology Registered and/or RCIS certification. Cardiovascular (CV) or (CI) and/or (VI) certification preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current BLS certification required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment. ACLS training must be achieved within 6 months of hire and maintained throughout employment.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiographic Program or Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Program.
- One year of experience working in a Cath Lab preferred.
- Registered as a Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiological Technologist - ARRT or Registration from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International – RCIS.
- Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support certifications required.
The salary range for this position is $27.84-$45.46 per hour based on previous work experience. The estimated annual salary for this position ranges from $57,579 to $94,101 depending on experience.
