Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Animal Control Specialist II to join our team at the City of Rialto, CA. As an Animal Control Specialist II, you will be responsible for enforcing animal control laws, investigating animal-related complaints, and providing animal care and control services to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce animal control laws and regulations to ensure public safety and animal welfare.
  • Investigate animal-related complaints, including reports of animal cruelty, neglect, and bites.
  • Provide animal care and control services, including impounding, quarantining, and euthanizing animals as necessary.
  • Patrol assigned areas to monitor animal activity and respond to animal-related emergencies.
  • Collaborate with other city departments and agencies to ensure effective animal control services.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to animal control activities.
  • Provide education and outreach to the public on animal control laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Two years of experience in animal control enforcement or a related field.
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of animal behavior, welfare, and control principles.
  • Experience with animal handling, restraint, and euthanasia techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
