Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)

Covenant Physician Partners is seeking a dedicated Full-time Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team.

**Position Overview**


Under the guidance of the Center Manager, the Clinical Nurse Specialist delivers expert nursing care through comprehensive assessment, strategic planning, treatment implementation, and patient evaluation.

The CNS is tasked with providing safe, informed, compassionate, and individualized nursing care to patients and their families.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Conducts patient preparation, which includes reviewing medical histories, obtaining necessary consents, measuring vital signs, initiating IVs, administering medications, and setting up required monitoring equipment. Assists in alleviating patient anxiety prior to and during the administration of sedation or anesthesia.
  • Ensures that all essential medical equipment is operational on a daily basis.
  • Monitors and assesses patients throughout all stages of care, demonstrating proficiency with all monitoring devices.
  • Safely transports and positions patients as necessary.
  • Accurately records and documents vital signs, maintaining comprehensive patient records.
  • Upholds patient safety standards and maintains a clean, organized environment within the Center.
  • Addresses individual patient needs and fulfills all pre and post-operative physician directives.
  • Complies with CDC guidelines regarding bodily fluids and infectious waste disposal.
  • Manages inventory of medical supplies, including ordering and restocking as required.
  • Conducts pre and post-procedure education for patients and their families, demonstrating a positive and caring demeanor. Provides clear verbal and written discharge instructions.
  • Assists with follow-up telephone interviews post-procedure.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
**Candidate Qualifications**

  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience in a peri-operative or procedural healthcare environment, with demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques and care for anesthetized patients.
  • Familiarity with the legal and regulatory frameworks governing Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) and applicable standards from AAAHC and other regulatory organizations.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

  • Must hold a valid RN license in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Current certifications in BLS and ACLS are required.
  • Experience in Critical Care, Emergency Room, or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is preferred.
  • Endoscopy experience is advantageous.
