Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough respiratory evaluations and administer prescribed therapies promptly, tailored to the patient's age and specific needs.
- Ensure timely provision of respiratory treatments in accordance with established departmental protocols.
- Monitor and document the outcomes of respiratory interventions accurately, maintaining compliance with age-specific requirements.
- Set up, oversee, and manage mechanical ventilation systems effectively, adhering to specialty area guidelines.
- Collaborate with medical professionals to discuss patient progress and suggest modifications to treatment plans as necessary.
- Demonstrate proficiency in obtaining and analyzing blood gas samples, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Perform skin testing accurately and assess results in a timely manner, according to departmental standards.
- Maintain respiratory care equipment meticulously, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Provide educational support to patients and their families, tailored to their specific needs and understanding.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in a relevant field is mandatory.
- Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist is required.
- Current certification from the National Board of Respiratory Therapy is essential.
- A valid Massachusetts State License is necessary.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) are required.
- Preferred: A minimum of one year of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with Meditech and Microsoft Office applications is advantageous.
