Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Summary:

Brockton Hospital is seeking a per diem Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing respiratory care to patients in a variety of settings. This is a per diem position, and you will be working on a variable schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately complete respiratory assessments and provide prescribed therapies on a timely basis, according to the specialty area on an age-specific basis.
  • Provide prescribed therapies on a timely basis, on an age-specific basis, according to the specialty area and established department guidelines.
  • Evaluate and accurately document result of respiratory therapy actions, on an age-specific basis according to the specialty area.
  • Accurately set up, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation on a timely basis according to the specialty area.
  • Communicate with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient progress and recommend changes in therapy modalities according to established department guidelines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to proficiently obtain and analyze blood gas specimens accurately according to established department guidelines on an age specific basis.
  • Demonstrate the ability to proficiently perform skin testing accurately, assess results and report on a timely basis according to the specialty area on an age specific basis.
  • Properly maintain equipment with complete accurate documentation as required in all areas of respiratory care according to established department guidelines.
  • Monitor staffing, work and equipment room areas on a regular basis.
  • Provide helpful, accurate patients' family education on a timely and age specific basis according to the specialty area.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Required to be a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Must be certified by the National Board of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Must have current Massachusetts State License.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BLS) and NRP certification are required.
  • Must be certified in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS) and neonatal resuscitation (NRP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year experience preferred
  • Meditech and Microsoft Office experience preferred.
