Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Professional Engineer II to join our team at Johns Hopkins Health System. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and reviewing engineering construction documents for additions, alterations, and renovations.

As an electrical engineer with a strong background in design and technical expertise, you will work closely with our design manager to provide technical guidance and support to our team. Your expertise will be essential in evaluating specialized project needs and incorporating them into the goals of JHM.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering, construction methods, and equipment installation/inspection. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from medical facilities to research laboratories, and will be expected to apply your knowledge and skills to ensure the successful completion of these projects.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, design, and review engineering construction documents for additions, alterations, and renovations
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the design team
  • Evaluate specialized project needs and incorporate them into the goals of JHM
  • Work closely with the design manager to ensure the successful completion of projects
  • Apply knowledge of construction methods, equipment installation/inspection, and design principles to ensure the successful completion of projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Current, valid professional registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Maryland
  • At least 6 years of experience in design of electrical systems for buildings, with increasing senior level organizational and business responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment installation/inspection, and design principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
