About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at JPS Health Network. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and assistance to support ancillary personnel in the performance of specialized nuclear medicine procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of specialized technical nuclear medicine procedures for accurate diagnosis and ensure patient procedure and supply charges are correct.
  • Assist patients on/off exam tables and from wheelchairs or stretchers as needed, and obtain and record accurate patient history.
  • Clean and monitor equipment, reporting any issues to Bio-Med or Manager, and perform daily, weekly, and monthly quality control checks on equipment.
  • Maintain yearly competency, mandatory district education, professional certification, state licensure, and education requirements.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment with all necessary supplies needed to perform studies and procedures in exam rooms.
  • Receive, handle, store, prepare, and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients according to prescribed doses or protocols and in compliance with QMP.
  • Provide on-call emergency coverage on a rotational basis, responding to hospital within 30 minutes or prior to isotope delivery if the dose is not on site.
  • Apply knowledge of department QMP, NRC, and State rules, and radiation safety principles to ensure patient and staff safety for radiation protection and achieve radiation exposure ALARA.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an AMA-approved school preferred; must be American Registry Radiology Technology (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) registered or eligible to take the boards within 12 months of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine preferred; 1+ year of related work experience.
  • Completion of ARRT/CNMT certified/eligible training in an AMA-approved school; certified by the registered upon hire or within 3 months of the hire date; Texas license required; JPS recognized BLS certification and must be maintained throughout employment.
