Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Based Dental Hygienist to join our team at Hudson Headwaters Health Network.

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and participating in all activities related to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a preventive, educational, and therapeutic mobile oral health program throughout our service area. This includes delivering dental hygiene services in schools and other community settings.

• Conduct patient assessments, provide prophylaxis, apply sealants, and administer fluoride treatments as necessary, adhering to NYS Statute and Regulations, Dental Hygiene Code of Ethics, and HHHN policies.
• Participate in oral health activities conducted by the organization, serving as a resource and educator to dental hygienists, nurses, school teachers, and other professionals.
• Act as a liaison between the organization and community leaders, parents, and children, promoting oral health as part of total health, including nutrition, tobacco cessation, anticipatory guidance, risk assessment, and oral hygiene.
• Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional growth and competence, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in dental hygiene and public health.

• Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene, Health Education, or Business Management preferred; Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene with three years of clinical experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• NYS License in Dental Hygiene required; Current CPR-AED BLS Provider certification also required.
• Minimum of three years of clinical experience as a dental hygienist; valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the Network.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; thorough knowledge of terminology related to Public Health; knowledge of personal computers and various software packages.
• Ability to plan and organize functional resources, define and develop internal and external relationships, and coordinate activities to achieve the organization's mission and goals.
