Job Summary

APAC-Atlantic, a CRH Company, is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Savannah, GA. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, including crawler and wheel tractors, portable cranes, and other machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain heavy equipment, including assembly, adjustments, maintenance, and welding
  • Lubricate and inspect equipment to detect abnormal conditions
  • Operate and service fuel injector pumps and nozzles, and engine governors
  • Assist in complete overhaul and testing of gas and diesel engines
  • Assist in the repair and overhaul of various heavy equipment
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience working on heavy equipment required; 3 or more years preferred
  • Ability to weld and burn equipment and operations of lathes, saws, shapers, grinders, and presses
  • Heavy equipment parts familiarization including: parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts
  • Attendance required according to company attendance policy
  • Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes
  • Overtime work required
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends as necessary
