AirCare Program Assistant Nurse Manager

This opportunity is for individuals with nursing qualifications and relevant experience in the AirCare program. The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the nursing operations of the AirCare team, ensuring that healthcare services, medical treatment, educational programs, and research initiatives are executed effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Lead the direct care nursing functions of the AirCare team.
- Identify trends and establish quality assurance priorities.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to allocate resources effectively.
- Formulate and revise policies to ensure compliance with established standards of care.
- Maintain operational efficiency within the unit by applying management principles.
Patient Care Delivery:
- Supervise care delivery and coordinate patient care teams.
- Assess patient needs and ensure quality care is provided.
- Monitor patient volume and adapt staffing as necessary.
Strategic Planning:
- Implement and monitor goals aligned with the strategic plan of the organization.
- Innovate and forecast future directions for the AirCare program.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Engage with healthcare providers to promote efficient operations.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration to address clinical challenges.
Education and Development:
- Ensure clinical education for staff to enhance competency.
- Mentor staff in managing complex patient care issues.
Human Resources Management:
- Oversee hiring and performance management of staff.
- Encourage staff participation in decision-making processes.
Financial Oversight:
- Assist in managing operating expenses and budget variances.
- Develop staffing plans and monitor costs effectively.
Research and Quality Improvement:
- Participate in benchmarking and incorporate best practices.
- Support evidence-based practices in nursing care.
Position Details:
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Schedule: Days, with flexibility for evenings and weekends as required.
- Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to support operations across multiple bases.
Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required; advanced degrees preferred.
- Experience in air medical transport and nursing leadership is essential.
- Current nursing licenses and certifications are mandatory.
