Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the Town of Clayton Police Department. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, and providing excellent customer service to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency calls, investigate complaints, and provide assistance to the public.
  • Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and prepare reports.
  • Testify in court as a witness, and provide expert testimony as needed.
  • Participate in community policing initiatives, and engage with the public to build trust and improve relationships.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license required.
  • Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certification required.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and to stand for long periods of time.
