Electrical Superintendent Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our construction team in supporting industrial projects across the country. As an Electrical Superintendent, you will be responsible for providing supervisory direction to craft workers, ensuring the successful completion of electrical construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervisory direction to craft workers, including journeymen and apprentices, to ensure the successful completion of electrical construction projects.
  • Liaise between field engineering and craft to ensure compliance with construction drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate and interface effectively with other superintendents, subcontractors, and Kiewit staff personnel to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
  • Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate.
  • Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
  • Oversee monthly job cost updates, cash flow projections, review, approve, and negotiate change orders.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry, performing functions as identified above.
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements, and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings, and other documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft and subcontractor performance.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative with strong leadership, negotiation, planning, and contract administration skills.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
