Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in the patient care team, providing high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care. This includes diagnostic tests, therapeutic procedures, and monitoring patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
Requirements:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or ACLS Instructor status.
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Licensed Certified Respiratory Therapist (LCRT) license within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or BCLS Instructor status within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or PALS Instructor status within 60 months of employment start date.
