Nights Respiratory Care Manager Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced respiratory care professional to join our team as a Nights Respiratory Care Manager. This role will involve overseeing the night shift operations of the department and personnel, as well as developing and implementing policies and procedures related to respiratory care.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, updates, and implements various policies and procedures related to the practice of respiratory care.
  • Plans and executes special projects.
  • Ensures that quality of care provided by staff meets standards by direct observation and individual instruction.
  • Provides direct feedback to staff, including development of improvement plans.
  • Supervises the night shift operations of the department and personnel.
  • Assigns and oversees work assignments.
  • Coordinates and provides instruction of staff, students, nurse, and medical residents in respiratory care theory and practice.
  • Develops in-service programs in conjunction with the administrative director.
  • Participates in leadership meetings with the administrative and medical directors.
  • Leads small group meetings and inter-shift report.
  • Assists in conflict resolution between staff and disciplines.
  • Acts as a consultant for staff RCPs, RNs, and MDs regarding patient assessment and care plan development.
  • Participates in the development of post hospitalization discharge planning for patients with high-level respiratory care needs.
  • Evaluates and discusses new products and equipment with staff and sales representatives.
  • Arranges for equipment in-services.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the field.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree and supervisory experience preferred.
