Job Description

As a Veterinary Care Specialist at CityVet, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our furry patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist veterinarians with medical procedures, patient care, and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for surgery by administering anesthesia, taking x-rays, and gathering lab specimens
  • Monitor patients post-operatively and restrain animals during exams
  • Obtain samples for testing, including stool, blood, and other specimens
  • Administer medications as prescribed by veterinarians
  • Communicate effectively with clients to obtain medical information and provide instructions on animal care

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 1-year experience in veterinary industry preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs to waist height and stand frequently throughout the day
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent communication and listening abilities
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented individual
