C & L Inspection is a leading provider of inspection, construction management, and engineering services to the petroleum, natural gas, and telecom industries.

We are seeking a skilled Welding Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that welding and radiographic procedures are qualified and utilized, radiographers are certified, welders are qualified, sound welds are produced, and proper documentation is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with approved construction drawings and company specifications.
  • Understand contract documents and ensure duties are performed in accordance with project requirements.
  • Complete and submit inspection reports that accurately describe work performed.
  • Assure design changes or material substitutions are discussed with Chief Inspection and proper company approval is obtained.
  • Verify materials used in installation comply with company requirements.
  • Establish and review welding procedures to ensure they are appropriate for the application.
  • Ensure welders are qualified for the work they are performing.
  • Observe x-ray procedures to ensure they are producing acceptable radiographs.
  • Verify radiographer certifications are current and in accordance with SNC-TC-1A.
  • Continuously observe welding technique and radiographic procedure to ensure proper procedures are being followed.
  • Coordinate radiographic crew activities with contractor activities.
  • Monitor quality of welds to ensure sound welds are being made at all joints.
  • Assure repairs made to correct defects in a pipe weld sufficiently correct the defect and the weld satisfies requirements as outlined by appropriate codes and company specifications.
  • Assure proper documentation is maintained by radiographic crew, including disposition of each reject.

Requirements:

  • API 1169 certification.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • CWI, CWB, or CPWI-V certification.
  • Calibrated coating inspection kit.
