Job Summary

The Psychosocial Clinician II is a key member of an interdisciplinary team, providing direct assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and intervention to members and/or family members. This role requires expertise in various treatment methodologies and the ability to effectively communicate clinical material to members and clinical staff.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Conduct timely and accurate assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for members.
  • Provide treatment to adults, adolescents, and/or children, utilizing a variety of treatment modalities.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, ensuring member-centered care and effective communication with clinical staff.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and address member needs.
  • Document clinical encounters accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Provide crisis intervention and guidance to members in need of immediate support.
  • Conduct initial interviews with members, gathering and interpreting psychological and social information to inform treatment decisions.
  • Determine member urgency and prioritize care accordingly.
  • Develop and implement therapeutic plans, selecting appropriate treatment modalities and interventions.
  • Provide clinical consultation and education to members, families, and clinical staff on psychosocial issues, community resources, and treatment options.
  • Stay up-to-date with current DSM nomenclature and treatment modalities, ensuring evidence-based practice.
Basic Qualifications
  • Two years of post-graduate mental health therapy experience within the last five years, with a focus on addiction medicine or a related field.
  • Masters degree in a Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other field related to behavioral health.
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California).
Additional Requirements
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize current DSM nomenclature.
  • Consistently demonstrates knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to members, clinical staff, and customers.
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of psychopathology and recognize the appropriate and timely clinical treatment intervention needed.
  • Must be familiar with and have expertise in a variety of treatment modalities.
