Educator - Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a part-time Educator to join our Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine Unit at Cottage Health. As an Educator, you will function as a consultant and resource for education, role development, and building collaborative partnerships. You will also be responsible for research through evidence-based practice/quality improvement, orientation/onboarding of new hires, and competency management.

The unit offers voluntary, short-term inpatient treatment for adults 18 years of age and older. We assist our patients in completing medical detoxification and withdrawal from alcohol, sedatives, and opiates. We also provide comprehensive medical and psychiatric care, including group therapy, occupational therapy, spiritual care, yoga and movement therapy, music and art therapy, case management, and discharge planning.

Our high-performing clinical team has earned the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence award three consecutive years for outstanding patient satisfaction, and we have one of the highest employee satisfaction levels in the organization.

Qualifications

  • CA RN license
  • BSN
  • MSN or Master's in Education preferred
  • BLS from the American Heart Association
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; AV applications; Ease with Technical applications (e.g. Search engines, websites)
  • 5 years recent experience in Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine
  • ECT experience preferred
  • Unit based education leadership
  • Experience in a defined Educator Role preferred
