We are seeking a highly skilled Grant and Partnership Development Specialist to join our dynamic team at Des Moines University. This critical role involves overseeing the entire grant and lifecycle of sponsored program administration, from identifying funding sources to post-award administration.
Key Responsibilities- Grant Writing and Editing: Write requested portions of grant proposals, contracts, subcontracts, and reports as appropriate, including administrative and resource-sharing core components, budget justifications, and description of resources and environment.
- Complex Content Development: Develop and edit complex content for proposals, including peer-reviewed publications, research grants, and other program activities.
- Post-Award Administration: Keep administrative staff apprised of the status of submissions when proposals are funded, and take the lead on working with investigators or staff to ensure funds are expended in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Funding Opportunity Identification: Collaborate with the Research Development Coordinator to identify funding opportunities and match specific funding opportunities with PIs based on knowledge of faculty and staff research/scholarly expertise/interests.
- Education: Bachelor's and/or advanced degree required.
- Experience: Three to five years of experience as a grants administrator and related professional experience is required.
- Writing and Editing Experience: One year of demonstrated experience writing and editing articles.
- Research Planning and Proposal Writing: Demonstrated progressive experience providing advanced research planning and proposal writing in industry or academia.
- Financial Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of financial principles and methods associated with grants and contracts.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Experience interpreting and/or providing consultation to others regarding federal financial regulations.
- Grant Program Knowledge: Knowledge of the grant program's award criteria.
- New Funding Opportunities: Experience in successfully bringing new federal funding opportunities and relevant partnerships.
