About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Research Associate 2 to join our team at the University of Miami's Cancer Center. As a key member of our research team, you will play a critical role in supporting research activities under the direction of a principal investigator or program director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and analysis of research studies, including data collection and management.
  • Develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and other tools to support research activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of research proposals, reports, and publications.
  • Provide technical assistance and services to investigators on funded research projects.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community partners to facilitate collaborative research efforts.
  • Supervise and train junior staff, graduate students, and volunteers on research activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including IRB, HIPAA, and funding agency guidelines.
  • Perform electronic medical chart reviews and update participant status in VELOS.
  • Serve as a liaison between shared resource staff and various service users, departments, and external organizations.
  • Provide consultations to investigators on research services and billing processes.
  • Establish and facilitate Community Advisory Boards for specific research projects.
  • Conduct and coordinate focus groups, behavioral interventions, and administer survey instruments.
  • Coordinate subcontracts between the University of Miami and community partners.
  • Present research findings to professional and community audiences.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Excellent English and Spanish language skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of research methodology, cancer epidemiology, and social determinants of health.
