About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician/Mechanic II to join our team at Penske Truck Leasing. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
  • Perform preventative maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision
  • Repair and troubleshoot components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials
  • Keep your work area clean and safe
  • Use Penske's tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs
  • Learn new skills through Penske's technician training program
  • Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications
  • 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
  • Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components
  • Experienced using tools of the trade, including diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to solve problems and work well as part of a team
  • Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
  • Basic computer skills
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods
  • Ability to use hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and/or operate required tools or controls
  • Ability to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg
