Surgical ICU Nurse

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Student Nurse Aide to join our team at Huntsville Hospital. As a Student Nurse Aide, you will work under the direction of the RN/LPN to provide direct patient care and support to patients in the Surgical ICU.
Responsibilities- Provide basic and advanced nursing care to patients within your scope of practice, including actions that meet psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and physical needs.
- Perform patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patients' age, gender, socioeconomic status, education, physical and mental abilities, and racial and ethnic background.
- Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
- Provide explanation to patients and families prior to administering care; answer questions within your scope of practice.
- Demonstrate the ability to be flexible, organized, and function appropriately in stressful situations.
- Respond to patients in emergency or physically distressing situations.
- Documentation meets current standards and policies.
- Assume accountability for appropriate utilization of resources.
- High School/GED required.
- Completed a minimum of one year of clinical experience within an academic nursing program.
- Completed the following educational courses and clinical experience: Fundamentals of Nursing and Pharmacology including medication administration.
- Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Associated Degree, Diploma, or Baccalaureate Professional Nursing Program.
- BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
