Emergency Department Charge Nurse

About the Role:
The Charge Nurse - Emergency Department is a critical leadership position at KurzSolutions, responsible for overseeing the nursing staff in the Emergency Department. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the nursing staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
- Ensure patient care is delivered efficiently and effectively, adhering to best practices and regulatory standards.
- Monitor patient flow and staffing levels to optimize resource utilization and minimize wait times.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve Emergency Department quality of care.
- Monitor and evaluate performance metrics, such as patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and staff productivity.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and lead performance improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including patient safety and infection control.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, promoting professional development and a positive work environment.
Requirements:
- Current license to practice medicine in any state, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States of the District of Columbia.
- Nationally accredited associate's degree or baccalaureate degree in nursing.
- Minimum of 5 years Emergency Nursing experience.
- Previous management or supervisory experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and quality improvement methodologies.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Active ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC or CEN certificate.
