Obstetric Nurse Specialist

The US Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a highly skilled Obstetric Registered Nurse to join our team. As an Obstetric Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to women and newborns, with a focus on reproductive health, prenatal, and postpartum care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to patients, including routine check-ups, prenatal care, and postpartum care.
- Collaborate with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and provide accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Manage labor and delivery, including initial evaluation, ongoing assessment, and patient education.
- Provide postpartum care, including determining hospital disposition, providing discharge counseling, and conducting clinic follow-up.
- A graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program.
- A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service, performing tasks such as providing primary health care to the community, managing antepartum, postpartum, gynecology, family planning, and STD/HIV care.
- Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) positions require a graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the area of expertise or specialty indicated by the position.
- Current certification in obstetric and gynecologic nursing is preferred.
This is a designated position covered by Public Law, requiring contact or control over Indian children. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. COVID-19 vaccination is required for all selectees prior to entrance on duty.
The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements. You will need to set up direct deposit so we can pay you.
