Job Summary

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler seeks a highly qualified Program Director for the Masters in Cardiac Perfusion Program. This is a key leadership position responsible for the overall development, administration, and effectiveness of the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic goals and objectives for the program.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective program delivery.
  • Coordinate with faculty and staff to maintain a supportive learning environment.
  • Manage the program budget and resources.
  • Provide curriculum development and instruction.
  • Lead the development, review, and revision of the curriculum to ensure it meets current industry standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Teach courses within the program as needed.
  • Integrate innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Ensure the program meets all accreditation standards set by relevant accrediting bodies.
  • Prepare and submit required accreditation documentation and reports.
  • Lead accreditation site visits and respond to feedback from accrediting agencies.
  • Recruit, hire, and mentor qualified faculty members.
  • Coordinate faculty assignments and provide professional development opportunities.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for faculty and staff.
  • Develop and implement strategies for student recruitment and retention.
  • Advise and mentor students, providing guidance on academic and career matters.
  • Coordinate clinical placements and internships for students.
  • Promote and support faculty and student research activities.
  • Seek external funding opportunities to support program initiatives and research.
  • Disseminate research findings through publications and presentations.
  • Foster relationships with clinical partners, healthcare organizations, and professional associations.
  • Represent the program at professional conferences and meetings.
  • Engage in community outreach activities to promote the program and profession.
Requirements
  • Masters in Cardiac Perfusion, Cardiovascular Science, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of clinical experience in cardiac perfusion.
  • Current certification as a Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP).
