Job Summary

Ambassador Personnel, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Production Scheduling and Control Engineer to join our team in the Gaffney, SC area. This is a direct hire opportunity with benefits, paid time off, holiday pay, and 401k.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and coordinating production schedules to meet customer requirements, analyzing historical and current data to generate reports and effective schedules, and ensuring efficient and timely production of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with 6S and all other company policies, rules, and procedures at all times.
  • Follow the Manager's directions and instructions, as well as activities assigned by the Assistant Manager.
  • Gather all releases from the customer service department to process, then study and evaluate sources needed.
  • Develop production schedules in accordance with sales forecast from long-term planning to day-to-day and support to evaluate capacity and new business opportunities, to meet the volume requirement.
  • Properly plan and schedule production to optimize production processes, reduce wastage, and increase productivity.
  • Confirm and keep updated the parameters to calculate the scheduled production, quality, efficiency, tack time, and standard times.
  • Effective Resource Utilization.
  • Calculate the series materials based on customer requirements of finished goods.
  • Monitor production process, workflow, and schedules to ensure on-time delivery and quick response to adjustments.
  • Provide the necessary recovery plan in the event of a production delay and efficiently allocate production to minimize company costs and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Coordinate a meeting with related parties to explain the production schedule, discuss constraints, and mitigate any risks.
  • Respond quickly to resolve and direct production.
  • Cost Reduction: By optimizing production processes and reducing waste, PPC can help to lower production costs.
  • Work with the Manager to execute and implement process improvements.
  • Production target setting and Tracking, and implement KPI's to monitor the performance of key processes such as Production Scheduling Achievement, Finished Goods Day on Hand, Gross Inventory, Capacity Utilization, and Line Efficiency.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are prepared for production.
  • Follow up on new production programs.
  • Coordinate the launch of new production along with R&D quality and other related areas.
  • Effective Decision Making.
  • Quick response to problems related to production delays, and suppliers' volume increase and report immediately to their manager or top manager.
  • Promote and coordinate cross-functional meetings with managers to develop potential solutions to improve production performance.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience as a production scheduler in a similar position in the automotive Industry.
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and planning skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications: usage of Microsoft Office etc. (ERP experience preferred).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and also take independent initiatives when the need arises.
  • Problem-solving knowledge (7 statistical tools for problem-solving preferred).
  • KPI's Management.
