Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Airfield Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. As an Airfield Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment on the exterior airport property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment on the exterior airport property, including runways, taxiways, aprons, high mast lighting, security gates, and GOAA buildings and structures not associated with the terminal.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of motor controls, high voltage electrical systems, lighting, power systems, and associated electrical equipment.
  • Work with airfield lighting computer systems and ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize and organize work, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing downtime.
  • Communicate effectively with the control tower and other stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient airport operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, and participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and five years of experience in electrical systems maintenance, with a focus on airfield electrical systems.
  • Documented experience as an Airfield Electrician II or equivalent, with a strong understanding of airfield lighting computer systems and electrical codes.
  • Knowledge of airfield cable numbering systems, OSHA regulations, FAA airfield lighting regulations, and NFPA 70E standard.
  • Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, electrical drawings, and specifications.
  • Valid Florida driver's license and Airport Certified Employee (ACE) in Airfield Lighting.
  • Current Journeyman Electrician certificate of competency recognized by the State of Florida (desired).
