RN - Per Diem - Behavioral Health Unit at Samaritan Hospital

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health team at Samaritan Hospital. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with patients experiencing mental health and substance abuse issues, providing individualized care and support to help them achieve stability and recovery.
Responsibilities- Assess and address the medical and psychiatric needs of patients, providing holistic care that addresses their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, working collaboratively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care and recovery.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care, including medication management, therapy, and discharge planning.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- NYS License and BLS certification required.
- 1 year of RN experience preferred, with a strong background in behavioral health and substance abuse treatment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
