Job Summary

This is a key role in the Facility Maintenance series at Metropolitan Community College. The Maintenance Mechanic Assistant will assist Maintenance Mechanics in performing routine maintenance duties, including room setups and tear-downs, minor repairs, and grounds maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform room setups and tear-downs, following established procedures and schematics.
  • Conduct minor, routine maintenance duties, such as changing light bulbs and ceiling tiles, and minor plumbing tasks.
  • Assist Maintenance Mechanics in performing campus facility maintenance and repair operations.
  • Prepare and maintain records, and maintain and order supplies as needed.
  • Receive and sort campus mail and packages, and deliver items to individuals or offices as directed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
  • Two (2) years grounds or maintenance related experience.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
Working Conditions

This position requires work in both outdoor and indoor settings, with exposure to atmospheric conditions, hazardous materials, and intense noise. The incumbent must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and team lift up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis.

Benefits

The annual salary for this position is $35,455 to $37,582, with a competitive benefit package included.
