Aircraft Support Mechanic Role at Delta Air Lines

Job Summary:

The Aircraft Support Mechanic is a critical role at Delta Air Lines, responsible for maintaining the proper and safe functioning of our fleet. As a member of the TechOps team, you will work independently or as part of a team to accomplish tasks and assist Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) in technical or non-technical functions related to aircraft interiors and other areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all work activities in accordance with established laws, regulations, standards, safety protocols, and procedures to ensure safety of self and others.
  • Conduct inspections to locate damage, defects, or wear that may affect safety, reliability, or customer experience, reporting issues as appropriate.
  • Recommend replacement, repair, or modification of aircraft equipment based on inspection.
  • Test machinery, mechanical equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning.
  • Install, remove, or modify aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications.
  • Repair worn, defective, or damaged parts or components, using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment or systems operation problems.
  • Interpret discrepancies or logs (written or verbal) to understand history and nature of issue, to troubleshoot issue, and to identify required next steps.
  • Maintain repair logs, documenting all preventative and corrective aircraft maintenance activities.

Requirements:

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An Airframe & Powerplant license is preferred, but not required.
