Job Summary

Tomball ISD is seeking a highly skilled Appliance Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As an Appliance Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining kitchen equipment, including ice machines, installation, repair, and preventive maintenance. You will also be responsible for installing new laundry equipment as needed, maintaining all types of commercial kitchen equipment, and repairing and installing new kitchen equipment as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain kitchen equipment, including ice machines, installation, repair, and preventive maintenance.
  • Install new laundry equipment as needed.
  • Maintain all types of commercial kitchen equipment, including walk-in coolers and freezers.
  • Repair and install new kitchen equipment as needed.
  • Establish and maintain a preventive maintenance program for kitchen equipment.
  • Fulfill records and reports as required.
  • Test for gas leaks as needed.
  • Assist with other duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Pursue personal educational growth pertaining to appliance repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to perform any additional duties as assigned.
Working Conditions

This position requires strenuous walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting - over 45 pounds. Responsibilities of the position can cause and require irregular work hours. The work environment includes working outside and inside, exposure to hot and cold temperatures, work in wet and confined areas, work with high voltage equipment, work with hot and cold equipment, and work with toxic chemicals.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid Texas Driver's license.
  • HVAC certifications.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
  • Understanding of the basic elements of thermodynamics.
  • Technical skills to evaluate and accurately diagnose problems with electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret data of electrical and gas testing equipment.
