Cornerstone Family Healthcare is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist/Sterilization Assistant to join our team in Newburgh, NY. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for obtaining and preparing specimens for analysis, performing screening tests, and ensuring the proper sterilization of medical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Obtain blood specimens and collect non-blood specimens for laboratory testing
- Perform screening tests and report results
- Process specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing
- Contribute to general laboratory functions and institutional needs
- Attend regular department staff meetings and in-service training
- Maintain compliance with laboratory and Cornerstone policies and procedures, and safety practices
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of experience as a phlebotomist
- Phlebotomy certification
- Current BLS certification
- Bilingual (Spanish)
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, with possible evening and Saturday shifts
