Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Architect to design, implement, and optimize comprehensive data warehousing solutions on the cloud, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) BigQuery and Lakehouse architecture.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud architecture, data warehousing principles, dimensional modeling, and big data technologies.

This role requires strategic thinking, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business & non-functional requirements into data models for analytics and technical solutions aligned with technology strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Own Nordstrom's overall data warehouse architecture
  • Design, architect, and maintain the data warehouse infrastructure to support current analytics, ML & AI needs and address future challenges
  • Create and maintain data models, architecture patterns, and schemas that consider security, performance, scalability, and business needs
  • Implement tools to support data modeling, orchestration, and data pipelines
  • Develop and manage data pipelines, ensuring data quality, reliability, and scalability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, procedures, and best practices to manage data integrity, quality, and lifecycle
  • Ensure alignment between batch and real-time architecture requirements
  • Maintain detailed documentation of data architecture and systems to ensure all team members can understand and implement the systems effectively

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 10+ years of direct experience in Big Data, Data Warehousing, Data Analytics, and/or Information Management related projects
  • 6+ years of direct experience in cloud data solution architectures, design, and development, including ETL, data warehousing, data lakes, and big data
  • 5+ years of experience using SQL, including development of stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views
  • 5+ years of direct experience with one or more database/data warehouse technologies (e.g., Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Hadoop, Teradata, Redshift, Snowflake)
  • 5+ years of direct experience working in a cloud environment such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

Pay Range Details:

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state-specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington:

$120,500 - $220,500 Annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
