Position Overview:
TKDA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Professional Bridge Engineer to join our employee-owned team of multidisciplinary engineering experts. This role is ideal for an individual with significant experience in the design of highway and railroad bridges, as well as other transportation structures.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:

  • Design and analyze various bridge types, including conventional grade separations and complex interchanges.
  • Manage the design of retaining walls, drainage systems, and sign structures.
  • Lead structural tasks on multidisciplinary transportation projects, ensuring adherence to TKDA's quality assurance and quality control guidelines.
  • Mentor junior team members, sharing your expertise and guiding them in technical design standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and progress reports.
  • Participate in business development efforts, tracking opportunities and representing TKDA at networking events.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural design.
  • Professional Engineer registration in Minnesota.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in structural design, particularly with bridge superstructures and substructures.
  • Proficiency in AASHTO, DOT, and AREMA codes.
  • Strong leadership experience in managing structural tasks on transportation projects.
  • Excellent communication skills for proposal development and client presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • A Master’s degree in structural engineering.
  • Registration as a Structural Engineer in multiple states.
  • Experience with Design-Build projects and contractor interactions.
  • Familiarity with Bentley OpenBridge Designer and Modeler.
