Aircraft Quality Control Inspector Role

The Aircraft Quality Control Inspector is responsible for developing and implementing quality control and ground safety programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications. This role involves inspecting and verifying the proper completion and documentation of safety and flight discrepancies, as well as briefing and debriefing pilots and crew members assigned to functional check flights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality control and ground safety programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
  • Inspect and verify the proper completion and documentation of safety and flight discrepancies.
  • Brief and debrief pilots and crew members assigned to functional check flights.
  • Evaluate Contractor personnel, including verification of skills, training, and experience.
  • Perform audits and inspections of work centers and ongoing maintenance actions, procedures, equipment, and facilities.
  • Examine parts and components for conformance to design specification and determine serviceability.
  • Determine if parts/components are serviceable, unserviceable-reparable, unserviceable-non-reparable; affix completed appropriate form/tag for disposition; return to stock, and route to appropriate shop for repair and/or turn-in.
  • Monitor timeliness and applicability of aircraft maintenance technical data and technical library.
  • Review maintenance source documents, aircraft inspection records, notes recurring discrepancies or trends, and initiate appropriate action.
  • Manage the material deficiency and technical order improvement program.
  • Review engineering investigation requests.
  • Initiate and review quality deficiency reports, technical deficiency reports, and hazardous material reports to ensure reports are accurate, clear, concise, and comprehensive.
  • Receive and review aircraft and explosive mishap reports for applicability.
  • Oversee aircraft weight and balance program.
  • Conduct safety inspections, training, and drills.
  • Efficiently prepare and maintain reports.
  • Perform inspections of egress equipment to ensure compliance with egress mechanics and inspect cartridge activated devices.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in the field consistent with the quality assurance requirements contained herein.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical, mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems or other technology as applicable to fabrication, repair, and operation and maintenance requirements.
  • Capable of reviewing others' work and determining accuracy and conformity to standards.
  • Experience with military rotary aviation preferred.
  • Top Secret Security Clearance Required.


Security Clearance:

The position requires the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance and maintain a favorable Tier 5 background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • S-92, VH-92A, VH-3D, and VH-60N experience preferred.
