Aerospace Engineering Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Aerospace Engineer to support a National Priority Program for the Navy. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and provide creative solutions to complex programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering team in support of flight control system development, aircraft modeling and simulation, analysis of aircraft flight dynamics, and ground and flight test support.
  • Design, develop, integrate, and test aircraft flight control systems and autopilots.
  • Develop, integrate, and validate models of aircraft flight dynamics and subsystems such as payloads, engines, transmissions, flight control components, and sensors.
  • Support lab, ground, and flight qualification testing of aircraft avionics, sensors, and flight control systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers.

Requirements:

  • Active or the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance after hiring (requires US Citizenship).
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering.
  • At least 7 years of experience in development and/or refinement of flight dynamics models, work with flight test data, and/or familiarity with aircraft performance, aerodynamic design, non-linear system identification, and flight control system design and analysis.
  • Excellent documentation and report writing skills are essential for this position.
  • Knowledge of sound engineering practices that may include such areas as requirement tracking, configuration control, technical communication, and/or the peer review process.

Compensation and Benefits:

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $120,000-$190,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
