Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate General Surgeon to join our team in Ketchikan, Alaska. As a Relief/Per Diem General Surgeon, you will be responsible for providing medical care to patients in a solo and rural setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who is looking for a unique and challenging experience in a beautiful and remote location.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will be a Board Certified MD/DO with at least 5 years of post-training experience. You will have the opportunity to work independently and be part of a dedicated team of healthcare professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality care to our patients. You will also have the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including the OR, clinic, and emergency department.
Responsibilities- Practice medicine within the scope of your license, training, and credentialing.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care.
- Perform surgeries and other medical procedures as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest medical knowledge and techniques.
- Accredited School of Medicine degree.
- Completion of Internship/Residency Program in General Surgery.
- Licensed to practice as a physician in the State of Alaska.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
- Current DEA registration.
- Current CPR certification.
