About the Role

Avery Dennison is seeking a highly skilled Polymer Development Scientist to join our Performance Polymer Division's technical team at our production and research facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct hands-on lab scale polymerizations and formulate prototypes of adhesives and coatings.
  • Setup and conduct experiments, perform relevant application and analytical testing in the laboratory, following set procedures.
  • Translate new product requirements into actionable work plans.
  • Understand and scope experimental design objectives, gather and analyze data, develop findings, and prepare technical reports.
  • Transfer knowledge to project teams and R&D community via presentations, technical reviews, and day-to-day interaction.
  • Work closely with other departments to lead the scale-up of new adhesives from laboratory through pilot and to full-scale production.
  • Coach technician and lab support colleagues.
  • Conduct travel (up to 15%) for the purposes of gathering customer needs, performing experimental trials, and team collaboration.
Requirements
  • Proven skills in polymer design and acrylic polymerization.
  • Ability to lead technical teams and innovate.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
